Peugeot EX1 Electric Roadster

Motor shows are held all around the world and used as a platform to show off new designs that have yet to be revealed. It gives every automaker the opportunity to see just how much the consumers love or hate the idea. We have seen some unusual concepts in the past – but Peugeot is taking it one step further by putting a new spin on EX1.

The Peugeot EX1 was designed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the marque. It is an all electric two seat roadster equipped with a pair of electric motors that gives it 340 horsepower. Already the automaker is claiming that it “has already broken several world records for acceleration from a standing start.”

The exterior design is unique and the first thing that will catch our eyes. Engineers were trying to pull off a type of “exoskeleton” appearance to the whole thing and they managed to pull it off. It helps to show just how lightweight the entire thing is. The bodies’ design clearly uses the new visual aspect that was first seen on the SR1 concept.

Underneath the hood lies an electric motor that is quiet and built with some of the most advanced acceleration technology. These engines assist in making the car easier to drive and there is no reason to use a gearbox. The motors are placed on each axle and have a peak output of 125 kW. This concept car was designed to break a few records and we look forward to seeing it in action!

2011 Wheels and more Audi R8 V10.6

The German luxury tuning company for sports cars, Wheels and more, introduces their latest conversion of an Audi R8, simply named V10.6. The standard R8 is on a 5.2 liter FSI V10 2xDOHC; and Wheels and more increased the engine's serial power by doing some tweaks. Under the hood, they made a valve controlled exhaust system, special stainless steel and an ECU upgrade. The tuned Audi R8 can now have a whooping 600 horsepower and 590 pound of torque. It then runs at 115.4 horsepower per liter.

To increase the agility of the R8, Wheels and more replaced its standard wheels with their own three-piece wheels. They are available with a wide choice of surface and color combinations, using a C-Sport 9,0 x 20 model with Continental Sport Contact III tires 235/30/20 at the front and 295/25/20 at the back. This adds an eye-catching visual appearance and sportier look to the Audi R8, making a car worth checking out.

2011 Venturi Fetish

French automobile manufacturer Venturi has just reached newer heights for fully-electric cars. Being the inventor of the first modern electric car, the company presents the new iteration of the series with the new Venturi Fetish. It is an 'electroshock' for the electric car industry. And with Venturi's years of specialization in electric propulsion and high-performance vehicles, the new Venturi Fetish is sure to be at par with gas-powered sports cars.

The vehicle then comes of age and becomes even sexier, bolder, more agile and more aggressive-looking; its look and styling is now different from the previous Lotus Elise’s of the past decade. The new eye-catching 2015 Lotus Elise is the series' natural progression and improvement in terms of performance and efficiency. It is the company's fantastic new daughter.

The new 2015 Lotus Elise is equipped with a 2.0 liter inline 4 pressured-charged engine. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in under 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 168 mph. It has 316 horsepower and 243 pound feet of torque. This amazing high performance and incredible speed is also achieved because of the 2015 Lotus Elise's lightweight body; weighing up to only 2, 414 pounds.

2011 Venturi America

Is it possible for an electric car to achieve the performance of a gas-powered sports car? French automobile manufacturer Venturi asked the same question and came up with an answer – yes, a 'green sports car' can be done. The company presents its newest achievement, the new Venturi America. Venturi has thrown in this vehicle its years of specialization in electric propulsion, high performance and state-of-the-art car technologies.

The Venturi America uses a new generation of electric motor, called the VM300, which is capable of producing 300 horsepower (with 220 kilowatts) and 380 Nm of torque. Apparently, it is the most advanced electric motor ever made for a car. To add to the motor power, Venturi adds a new 54 kWh LIV-10 Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack; and incredibly, it can be recharged using fast charge terminals or even a standard electrical socket. The Venturi America has a range of 300 km (or about 185 miles).

2015 Lotus Eterne

The British sports car manufacturer Lotus redefines elegance for the future, introducing the all-new 2015 Lotus Eterne. It is the company's next iconic four-door, four-seater sports GT. A car of the future, Lotus describes it as the highest epitome of refinement, sophistication, power and strength. Designed to compete against the Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche Panamera, elegance and motorsports thrill are combined in the 2015 Lotus Eterne.

This vehicle is equipped with a 5.0 liter pressure-charged V8, but an option for a hybrid engine is also available. It runs from 0-62 mph in 4 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 196 mph. The 2015 Lotus Eterne has 612 horsepower and 531 pound feet of torque; it uses 122.4 horsepower per liter. It weighs about 4,000 pounds, which is not quite a lightweight. As for the price, it has a price of approximately $190,000.

Fenice Milano Rolls-Royce Ghost

In 2009, to meet the market’s modern request, the renowned English manufacturer launched the Ghost model. The ‘baby’ Rolls (it is only 540 cm long) has a less formal look compared to her bigger sisters, but it doesn’t abandon the typical pride of the flagships boasted with the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’, the famous little statue on the front.

Moreover its sporty character is supported by the 12V engine 570 Hp that make of her the more powerful Rolls ever built, able to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in only 4,9 seconds. The ‘Diva’ by Fenice Milano is based on this jewel produced in a limited quantity. Thanks to an important internal and external restyling, the ‘Diva’ adds a touch of Italian elegance and style, together with technical and performance improvements, able to make this car a true masterpiece with a strong personality. To begin with the exterior, ‘Diva’ is proposed in three elegant versions with a bi?colour livery: from the classic blue navy, to the delicious bronze and the luxury limited edition white golden pearlescent varnishing that includes particles in 24K gold. For the navy?blue version, the bonnet and fender are in white golden pearlescent varnishing and chromed frontal grid; while for the white version the bonnet, fender and grid are in 24K gold. For the bronze version, instead, three combinations are available: bonnet, fender and grid in 24K gold, or bonnet and fender in white golden pearlescent varnishing and grid in 24K gold or chromed bronze grid.

Inside the console design has been maintained, but a few enhancements are provided, which due to the use of fine materials, make ‘Diva’ the most exclusive car available on the market. The dashboard and the passenger compartment are in biscuit?coloured leather and wood (teak or grey oak) and include white or bronze Alcantara profiles and inserts in 24K gold, whose outlines have been hand shaped by Fenice Milano’s artisans. The wheel, redesigned starting from the original one, has the crown covered in biscuit?coloured leather ant the central part in 24K gold and wood (teak or grey oak). Also the seats take inspiration from the original ones, but are redesigned following ergonomic principles and realized in white combined with biscuit?coloured pure leather (alternatively a version with biscuit?coloured pure leather coupled with bronze Alcantara seats is available), and like in the original car the picnic tables and the integrated minibar with glass holders have been maintained and realized in 24K gold.

As it happens for all Fenice Milano’s project, also for ‘Diva’ the aesthetic embellishments are coupled with technical interventions, able to improve the performances of the base model. The ECU upgrade, the suspensions adjustment and the optimization of the exhaust and suction system guarantee in fact notably superior performances and even more comfort onboard.

Hennessey HPE700 Camaro Convertible

With the limited production run of Hennessey’s 2010 HPE700 Camaro long since sold-out, the company has announced they will build another 24 units for the 2011 model year. This latest run of HPE700′s will include the addition of the new convertible model (from Chevrolet) and an increase in power from its supercharged 6.2L LS9 V8 – the same engine found in the Corvette ZR1.

The 2011 HPE700 gets its additional power from revised boost levels and a more robust fuel system, delivering 755 bhp and 763 lb-ft of torque. This 30 horsepower increase over 2010 will also help move the convertible’s extra weight, while the large 15 inch brakes from last year remain to bring it back to a stop quickly.

As the Camaro convertible arrives in showrooms in the spring of 2011, the 6-speed manual SS model will become available alongside its hardtop brethren to become the basis for the HPE700 LS9 Camaro transformation.

HPE founder and president, John Hennessey said, “We have already sold a several of our 2011 HPE700′s in hardtop form, increasing the potential for the convertible LS9 Camaro to become an even rarer option than before”. “I expect that we will sell all 24 units just as we did in 2010. However this time we will probably sell-out even sooner as the convertible option will certainly be attractive – especially with 755 horsepower”.

In addition to the upgraded LS9 engine, the HPE700 also includes an adjustable coilover suspension, larger sway bars, HPE lightweight wheels, larger 15-inch brakes with 6-piston front calipers, stainless steel long tube headers, painted hockey stripe, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, CarbonAero™ carbon fiber body kit and more to complete the car’s distinct look and performance characteristics.

As with the 2010 model year, the 2011 HPE700 LS9 Camaro will be limited to just 24 units, with no set allocation between coupe and convertible. Pricing for the complete HPE700 upgrade, including the base vehicle, is $132,500 and can be ordered directly through HPE or one of Hennessey’s authorized Chevrolet dealers.

Kia Cerato: 5-door Hatchback

Galatea Automobiles uses Hyundai Tiburon/Coupe as a base for a new generation of kit car. Italian styling houses charge through the roof to create an exclusive body for an expensive car. What if a thoughtfully styled exotic and exclusive body was made for a less expensive car, and offered for the price of a body kit?

Today, Galatea Automobiles LLC introduces the “Revision”, the crowning achievement of their goal of designing a car that is both exclusive and beautiful, without the associated expenses of owning an exotic car. The Revision takes inspiration from current exotic sports car styling while retaining originality.

Robert R. Fechtmann is credited with designing the new bodywork. The Hyundai Tiburon was used as a base for the new design, because it already has a strong Italian influence in the side profile of the body. The objective was to replace the original front and rear end with a design that amplifies the Italian influence. Every part was built from scratch, instead of using existing parts as a template. Therefore, every surface is new and dramatically different from the original design. While very different from the stock parts, the new parts maintain a unified design with the rest of the car. The overall effect is a car body that is highly modified, but still has a “factory” appearance. It is more likely to be mistaken as an elegant and expensive factory car, instead of being recognized as an inexpensive modified car.

Unlike many kit cars that are based on a fairly old donor car, the Galatea is a comparatively modern car with modern features. Some of the features on the car shown include front and side airbags, a V6 engine, leather seats, moonroof, and an Infiniti sound system.

The kit is available for $5,180 in fiberglass and includes all lights, hardware, emblems, and a detailed instruction book to make installation easier. The parts included are a new hood, fenders, front bumper, headlights, rear bumper, and taillights. A finished car with 50,000 miles like the one shown can be built for a grand total of $16,000.

The name “Galatea” stems from an ancient Greek myth about a man who sculpts his vision of an ideal woman out of ivory, which he names Galatea. The Greek goddess Aphrodite brings the sculpture to life after observing the sculptor’s passion over his creation. Galatea Automobiles relates this story to the enthusiasm put into the car’s design. The parts were sculpted by hand with a personal vision for automotive beauty. The sculpture was then brought to life in the form of a real, drivable car.

Mansory Range Rover Sport

Perfectly in time for the Range Rover’s 40th birthday, Mansory is introducing a programme for personalising the off-road classic. To be precise, for its sports derivative, the Range Rover Sport. As is the case with all modifications from Mansory, both the body and the interior are subjected to a complete working-over and topped off with powerful engine tuning. Mansory does not distinguish between a diesel or petrol engine in the basic model; the programme increases the performance for either power plant.

The specialists have placed particular emphasis on improving the sporty look of the British SUV. Aerodynamic components with a perfect fit and made from PU-RIM plastic are used to give the series Range Rover Sport a significantly more striking appearance. The new front spoiler with its vertically arranged day driving LEDs and impressive air intakes transform the Bug into a true eye-catcher. In addition, MANSORY Switzerland is also producing a new bonnet with large power dome using the carbon prepreg method. This bonnet provides the engine with additional fresh air for a perfect balance in temperature.

Wide wings and deep side skirts convey a feeling of wild engine power, even while stationary. By adding 60 mm width in the front and 80 mm at the rear, MANSORY has created sufficient space in the wheel wells to accommodate 23 inch light metal wheels with top-performance 315/25 R23 tyres. To show the rims off even more, the centre of gravity can be lowered by up to 30 millimetres with a new air suspension module.

The rear apron diffuser, which features an insert made from visible carbon fibre, and the roof spoiler, also made from carbon, emphasise the dynamic appearance of the SUV. In addition, the D-pillars of the roof can be fitted with carbon applications.

MANSORY is offering powerful performance improvements for all engine variants of the Range Rover Sport. Around 30 HP of additional engine output and extra torque of up to 40 Nm are generated in all variants of the series aggregates by mounting sports exhaust systems, sports air filters and optimised ECU.

For the interior, MANSORY has created a control centre that optimally combines functionality and convenience. The sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals – especially created for the Range Rover Sport – ensure full control over the vehicle. At the same time, the interior boasts pure luxury. Almost all interior cladding components are covered in leather and can be combined with stylish wood or carbon applications, as required. Perfectly embroidered MANSORY Switzerland logos on the seats and foot mats complete the enhanced look.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition

Automobili Lamborghini and Blancpain are uniting their phenomenal engineering skill and honoring the huge success of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing series with a very special super sports car: the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition.
http://www.babez.de/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/lamborghini-gallardo-lp570-4-blancpain-edition-titel.jpg

This extraordinary super sports car joins the competition spirit of the Super Trofeo race car with an exclusive design and one hundred percent road-going usability. The first Gallardo from the exclusive and limited Blancpain Edition production run has been presented by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, and Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, at the final race weekend of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo on Sunday September 26 in the “Piero Taruffi” circuit, Vallelunga.

Automobili Lamborghini, the manufacturer of extreme Italian super sports cars, and Blancpain, the world’s oldest luxury watchmaker, are among the very best brands in their respective sectors worldwide. Blancpain was recently voted the “Best of the Best” among the world’s most exquisite watch brands by the “Luxury Institute” in New York. Now the two brands have come together to develop a unique blend of technology and design to create the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition, putting the power of the world’s fastest mono-marque race series into a road-legal vehicle.

Blancpain is the title sponsor of the successful Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series. The cooperation between these two brands brings together the highest levels of engineering excellence from the automotive and chronometry industries. Blancpain has been producing innovative masterpieces of watch-making art in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux since 1735. Each timepiece is assembled by one single watchmaker, reflecting the quality and individual attention with which Lamborghini builds its super sports cars for the road, and its 570 hp Super Trofeo race cars.

Both brands share an enormous passion for racing. Blancpain is not only intensely involved with the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, but is also official timekeeper for the FIA GT1 World Championship – where Lamborghini cars also compete against other prestigious marques. In July, Lamborghini secured its first win in the newly-formed championship at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, where former Formula One driver Riccardo Zonta and Frank Kechele charged to a first-place finish.

“Lamborghini is extremely happy about its cooperation with Blancpain. In just its second year, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo has established itself in the premier league of gentlemen’s racing,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “Each race is a battle of dedication and passion for every single hundredth of a second – something that characterizes both of our brands. The Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition demonstrates the close bond between our road-going super sports cars and the race car.”

“This is a very intense and dynamic partnership between companies from highly disparate sectors, but with the same drive for innovation and mechanical excellence,” says Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain. “For me, Blancpain has always been a true revolutionary – even a little crazy – with the spirit of adventure. We have always tried to be a little different, to remain innovative and to attempt things that no-one had ever achieved before. This pursuit of excellence is a passion that is shared by Blancpain and Lamborghini,” continues Hayek. “Lamborghini is indisputably a first-class manufacturer with the highest levels of engineering competence, which is why the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo offers a perfect platform for attracting even more attention to our brand around the world.”

Marc A. Hayek is not only President and CEO of Blancpain, he is also a passionate and accomplished race driver. He has already claimed several victories in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, and is currently fighting for the podium in the Pro-Am Drivers’ Standings.

In this special configuration, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition shows the spirit of competition – the mighty rear spoiler for maximum stability and the engine cover for optimized ventilation were derived directly from the race car featured in the world’s fastest one-make series. The Edition is also equipped with Skorpius wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers and discs made, of course, from carbon-ceramic composite. One striking visual feature that fits perfectly with the matt black paintwork is the carbon-fiber used to make external components, such as the diffuser and mirror casings.

The interior of the Blancpain Edition further reinforces the extremely sporty character of the Gallardo without sacrificing the comfort of the driver and passenger. The entire interior is finished in black Alcantara with yellow accents and visible carbon-fiber. The Blancpain logo is placed on the exterior and also featured on the seats and cockpit in yellow stitching. Propulsion for the Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition comes courtesy of the 570 hp V10 power unit from the series Superleggera production car – as is the case for the Super Trofeo race car. Superb traction from the all-wheel drive ensures perfect stability in every situation.

The super sports car from Sant’Agata Bolognese boasts a dry weight of no more than 1340 kilograms (2954 lb) – the lightest road-going model in Lamborghini’s range.

One key factor is the exterior and interior components made from carbon-fiber. Carbon-fiber is ideal for the manufacture of sports cars as its use allows for weight reduction and improved mechanical features. The car’s performance is thus enhanced thanks to a better power-to-weight ratio and reduced total mass, which means that CO2 emissions are also lower.

The V10 power unit with 5.2 liters (317.6 cu in) of displacement generates 419 kW (570 hp) in the Gallardo Blancpain Edition. This puts the power-to-weight ratio of the vehicle at only 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per hp and guarantees breathtaking performance. This super sports car handles the dash from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and flies past the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark only 6.8 seconds later, ultimately exceeding 320 km/h (199 mph).

In the email forward I received, it said:

We are all familiar with the indisputable truth about choosing names for any means of transportation. As it turned out, in a Ferrari agree with this statement and, therefore, for his new creations have found special letters from the past. At the presentation of new items Italian boss Luca di Montezemolo stables noted that the acronym GTO is very important to us and that is why back in circulation right now, for the most powerful car in Ferrari history. Of course, in addition to technical superiority model boasts traditionally sophisticated design, and many other cool shades, too. It is worth recalling that the GTO has always been a very exclusive modification. In the sixties, people got only 39 Ferrari 250 GTO, and in the eighties, when the light went out Ferrari 280 GTO, the Italians were honored to produce 277 pieces. Now the series has become more accessible - plans to release 599 cars.

This picture shows a bird-eye snapshot of the new Ferrari GTO 599 super racing car.

According to AutoBlog.com website this new Ferrari GTO car model has a 6.0-liter V12 Engine with an equivalent of 612 horsepower to 661. That's more than double the horse power of a super duty new ford truck. It also has, with torque up a modest 9 lb-ft to 457. Coupled with a 195 kilogram (430 lb) weight reduction program – now tipping the scales at 1495 kg (3295 lbs), the leaner and meaner 599 can sprint to 62 miles per hour from a standstill in a scant (and very specific) 3.35 seconds, with a top speed in excess of 208 mph, while lapping the Fiorano test track from which its donor's name is derived in a blitzing 1 minute, 24 seconds. That's faster than the Enzo, people.

The limited number of new GTO Ferrari cars corresonds with the car model name Ferrari GTO 599. But whatever happens the new Ferrari car will force competitors to swallow the dust and give a run for it's price whether its a super Bugati Veyron or Enzo.

2011 IPL G Coupe Debuts With 348-Horsepower 3.7-liter V6, Tuned Suspension

Infiniti enters the 2011 model year with an impressive slate of all-new or refreshed products, including the next generation Infiniti M performance luxury sedan and Infiniti QX full-size luxury SUV. The most memorable addition of all, however, might be the introduction of the new specialty-performance vehicle collection, the Infiniti Performance Line™.

“The 2011 IPL G Coupe sets a new performance standard, bringing all the elements together – styling harmonized with performance, exhaust note with acceleration feel, ride comfort and confident handling,” said Infiniti Vice President Ben Poore. “It’s the perfect formula for unmatched driving exhilaration.”

Introducing the IPL G Coupe
The 2011 IPL G Coupe builds on the foundation of the second-generation Infiniti G Coupe Journey rear-wheel drive model with extensive modification throughout the vehicle. The IPL G Coupe’s unique exterior includes a dramatic front and rear bumper/fascia design with integrated fog lights and black finishers, sculpted side sills, rear spoiler and round chrome exhaust tips.

Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe -Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe -

Each part is shaped to accent the G Coupe’s aggressively seductive styling. Combined with the exclusive 19-inch IPL split 7-spoke graphite-finish wheels and low-profile W-rated Bridgestone Potenza RE050A performance tires, the IPL G Coupe projects a confident stance and road-ready attitude. The IPL G Coupe is offered in just two exterior colors: Graphite Shadow and Malbec Black.

Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G CoupePhoto: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

The IPL G Coupe interior is designed to harmonize with the exterior styling, offering two color treatments – Graphite and Monaco Red (red interior only available with the Malbec Black exterior and 7-speed automatic transmission).

All IPL G Coupe interiors include red-stitched leather-appointed front sport seats with manual thigh extension and driver’s power torso and thigh support adjustment, red-stitched steering wheel, Silk-Obi aluminum trim, and aluminum pedals and footrest. The 8-way power driver and front passenger seats feature 2-way adjustable head restraints and a unique rear-seat access system (the front seats move forward automatically at the touch of a button to allow passengers into the rear seats).

The double hand-stitched leather-covered steering wheel is designed for maximum comfort and usability, with standard wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. Solid magnesium paddle shifters are standard with the 7-speed automatic transmission.

Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G CoupePhoto: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

Other standard interior features include Infiniti Voice Recognition for audio navigation, memory system for driver’s seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors, RearView Monitor, Rear Sonar and sliding glass panel moonroof.

The IPL G Coupe’s enhanced performance comes from the synergetic effects of three technology areas – engine tuning, dynamic tuning, and sound quality/acceleration feel tuning. Engine performance modifications were selected not only for increased horsepower and torque levels, but also for acceleration feel and exhaust sound without compromising fuel economy or noise standards.

Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G CoupePhoto: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

The IPL G Coupe’s advanced VQ37HR 3.7-liter V6 engine management system has been recalibrated through air-fuel mixture and ignition timing optimization, raising the maximum horsepower output point to 7,400 rpm (from 7,000 rpm). To obtain a natural acceleration feel, the torque curve from low revs to the maximum torque point (5,200 rpm) was tuned for linearity.

Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G CoupePhoto: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

The IPL-tuned high-flow exhaust is a full dual exhaust design with independent left and right large diameter pipes. The muffler’s inner structure and materials have been maximized to reduce pressure and provide an appropriate performance exhaust note. The result is a 30% reduction in exhaust pressure versus a base G Coupe’s Y-pipe exhaust system design.

As a result of both the exhaust system and engine management changes, the IPL G Coupe generates 348 horsepower – an increase of 18 horsepower over the non-IPL models – and 276 lb-ft of torque (+6 lb-ft).

Equally inspiring is the IPL G Coupe’s dynamic vehicle performance, which focuses on providing confident handling, flat ride and smooth ride comfort. The IPL suspension tuning and damping management philosophy is designed to optimize each aspect of the suspension, effectively connecting the driver to the road surface while minimizing uncomfortable vibrations. Front spring rates have been increased 20% over the base G Coupe and rear spring rates increased 10%. Shock tuning has also been adjusted.

The IPL G Coupe also offers a sport-tuned steering gear and large 4-wheel sport brakes (14-inch front, 13.8-inch rear) with aluminum-alloy opposed calipers (4-piston front/2-piston rear) and Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD).

Photo: 2011 Infiniti IPL G CoupePhoto: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

Technological and convenience features include standard Infiniti Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, Remote Keyless Entry system, a tilt/telescoping steering column with increased travel, illuminated glove compartment and automatic temperature control. Also standard is XM® Satellite Radio (XM® subscription required, sold separately) and an 11-speaker Infiniti “Studio on Wheels”™ by Bose® with a 3-way front door speaker array using 10-inch woofers.

The IPL G Coupe’s standard Infiniti Navigation System features XM NavTraffic® Real-Time Traffic Information, XM NavWeather™ with Real-Time Weather and 3-day forecast (XM® subscription required, sold separately), and Zagat Survey® Restaurant Guide. Race the Base fundraising event pits supercars against military jets

Supercars and airstrips go together like Corvettes and gold chains. There are simply few other locations on this blue marble we call Earth that allow owners to legally and somewhat safely tickle the upper limits of their speedometers. That's exactly why Zahir Rana, the owner of ZR Auto, has organized a charity event to allow supercar owners to have their time on the tarmac at the Canadian Forces Base in Cold Lake, Alberta. For the low, low price of $1,500 per car and $500 per passenger, drivers can ratchet their exotics all the way up to 185 mph or better.

There will even an exhibition in which Rana will put his twin-turbo, 860-horsepower Ferrari Enzo toe-to-toe with a CF-18 Hornet fighter jet, but the best part is that every last dollar will go to four charities. The Military Families Support Society, Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, Bonnyville Health Foundation and Hearts for Healthcare will all benefit from the Race the Base event. There are only 100 slots available, so if you happen to own a car worth wringing out and have $1,500 Canadian burning a hole in your pocket, head over to the ZR Auto site for more information.

Interior detailing did not fall behind for the Challenger SRT8 either. They include racing tuned and reinforced bucket seats, complete with leather upholstery and red accents. The stitched accents are further applied to the steering wheel. Finally, the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 comes furnished with useful 21st century features such as Uconnect™ Multimedia, Uconnect Navigation, Uconnect Phone and Keyless Go

2010 DeltaWing IndyCar Concept

The design of the 2010 Deltawing IndyCar Concept is a departure from traditional vehicles we see every day. DeltaWing LLC Indianapolis introduced this concept as a test-bed for technological advancement in the automotive industry, directed primarily at a younger group of enthusiasts.

The form of the vehicle is unlike anything we have seen on the road to date. The design follows an ultra slim front track contour, meant to reduce weight and diminish aerodynamic drag. Fairings for the Firestone Firehawk tires avert wheel interlocking. Airflow remains undisturbed even during high velocity laps on the track, producing efficient downforce with negligible wake to guarantee the smallest loss in aerodynamic potential. This allows the DeltaWing Indycar Concept to overtake another vehicle on track, if ever the driver finds himself trailing behind. The inverted aerofoil or spoiler is substituted with a prominent tail fin to increase YAW stability and eliminate drag while speeding through straight-aways on the racetrack. The vehicle is a single-seater, true to the appeal of racecars on the track.

The prototype car is planned to rely on a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine. This is estimated to produce around 300 horsepower at 7000 rpm. True to racecar tradition, the car will use a 6-speed oval transmission with paddle shift controls, or a 5-speed transmission with reverse. The focus of the concept is primarily on eliminating aerodynamic drag and epitomizing lighter mass and weight. The anticipated weight of the vehicle will be 1030 lbs including the driver. The car’s weight distribution is directed more toward the rear, with more than 70% of the mass carried by the hefty rear tires. This means that 80% of the downforce comes from the rear of the car, augmenting inline traction while the car accelerates using its rear tires. It is said that DeltaWing LLC will release the prototype by August 2010.

2010 Brabus T65 RS Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series

When it comes to performance, the Brabus-tuned T65 RS Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series doesn’t disappoint. Brabus boosted the performance of the SL 65 AMG by adding twin turbochargers and four large intercoolers to the engine package. This is further supplemented by twin mufflers raising the horsepower of the vehicle to 800 hp at 5500 rpm. Torque values also increased to 811 lb-ft at 2100 rpm. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and achieves a speed of 200 km/h in 9.8 seconds. The car’s top speed is measured at over 330 km/h, but due to safety standards and regulations, it is limited to 320 km/h or 200 mph.

Brabus also pays special attention to the interior detailing of the SL 65 AMG. The power comfort seats of the vehicle are covered in a unique blend of black leather and Alcantara, making the seats soft and breathable. The same combination of materials is applied on the headliner, dashboard and door panels. Accentuating the interior design of the car are accurately-sewn red seams found all over the interior, perfectly matching the black ambiance of the car.

The BRABUS upholstery shop creates a special sporty and luxurious interior to customers’ exact specifications, down to the last detail. The power comfort seats offer excellent lateral support without constricting the occupants. In this true BRABUS one-off car, made to the specifications of a longtime customer, they are upholstered in an exclusive combination of especially soft and breathable black leather and Alcantara. The same materials are found on door panels, headliner and dashboard. Precision-sewn red seam add striking highlights to all interior elements. Final adjustments to the interior include stainless steel scuff plates with an illuminated logo and a custom-built speedometer.

2010 BMW Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo

Enthusiasts might appreciate the fact that the 2010 BMW Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo is available as a coupé, convertible, touring or saloon vehicle. Also, rear-wheel and all-wheel drivetrain options are available for the car.

The BMW Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo relies primarily on its 3-liter inline-6 twin turbocharged engine, which yields 400 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 397 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque at 4500 rpm. The engine cleverly allocates 133.3 horsepower per liter of gasoline, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The engine can go up to 7000 rpm, and the top speed clocks in at 186 mph (300 km/h). Massive power is distributed across the powerband using the Alpina Switch-Tronic; a set of buttons behind the steering wheel that essentially removes the need for a traditional gear handle. Using the Switch-Tronic, the driver can shift between gears with no perceivable loss in acceleration. This innovative feature also allows the driver to make use of the whole revolution range of the engine before shifting between gears, and utilizing the top gear is feasible for any driving circumstance. A heavy-duty cooling mechanism with added radiators preserves favorable temperatures when driving. The engine of the B3 S Bi-Turbo also maintains outstanding fuel economy.

Looking at the exterior, the car’s lively aesthetics are identified through the front spoiler, scooped hood, rear diffuser and a pair of unique double-ended mufflers. Alpina Classic 19 inch light-alloy rims emphasize the entire figure of the vehicle, complete with Michelin tires.

The interior is upholstered with leather sport seats, and a blue Alpina display beneath the dashboard. The display contains a digital speedometer and indicates important information such as engine and oil temperature.

2010 Audi A9 Concept Design

Audi has just released its latest concept design. It is known as the A9 concept and it is unlike anything we have seen in any production car to date. Audi plans to project its A9 concept at a higher standing than its current top dog, the A8. Audi predicts that this concept will be advanced enough to overwhelm first-class luxury models from competitors such as the Porsche Panamera, and the Lamborghini Estoque if ever it will be put into production.

The form and features of the 2010 Audi A9 Concept were motivated in part by the magnificent structural design of Santiago Calatrava’s architecture in The City of Arts and Sciences located in Valencia. Such inspiration can be seen in the smooth, sleek and flowing contours of the vehicle along with its futuristic structure. Calatrava’s constructions seem as if they were taken from centuries in the future, and Audi’s concept emulates the same ideals.

The windshield of this concept car is fully integrated into the roof, and is composed of material using nanotechnology. Note that this technology does not exist at this time, since it is designed to automatically adjust from clear to opaque, change color and repair damage. Changing colors to the preference of the driver is a feature also reserved for the body kit of the A9. This means that at the touch of a button, the car can change from white to black, to red, to blue, etc.

Propulsion for the A9 concept is achieved via a sophisticated fusion between electric-powered motors found in each of the four wheels of the vehicle, working in concurrence with an internal combustion engine using a renewable source of fuel. Once again, such technology does not exist as of yet, but the plans for this vehicle certainly sound fascinating.
