Peugeot EX1 Electric Roadster

Motor shows are held all around the world and used as a platform to show off new designs that have yet to be revealed. It gives every automaker the opportunity to see just how much the consumers love or hate the idea. We have seen some unusual concepts in the past – but Peugeot is taking it one step further by putting a new spin on EX1.

The Peugeot EX1 was designed to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the marque. It is an all electric two seat roadster equipped with a pair of electric motors that gives it 340 horsepower. Already the automaker is claiming that it “has already broken several world records for acceleration from a standing start.”

The exterior design is unique and the first thing that will catch our eyes. Engineers were trying to pull off a type of “exoskeleton” appearance to the whole thing and they managed to pull it off. It helps to show just how lightweight the entire thing is. The bodies’ design clearly uses the new visual aspect that was first seen on the SR1 concept.

Underneath the hood lies an electric motor that is quiet and built with some of the most advanced acceleration technology. These engines assist in making the car easier to drive and there is no reason to use a gearbox. The motors are placed on each axle and have a peak output of 125 kW. This concept car was designed to break a few records and we look forward to seeing it in action!

2011 Wheels and more Audi R8 V10.6

The German luxury tuning company for sports cars, Wheels and more, introduces their latest conversion of an Audi R8, simply named V10.6. The standard R8 is on a 5.2 liter FSI V10 2xDOHC; and Wheels and more increased the engine's serial power by doing some tweaks. Under the hood, they made a valve controlled exhaust system, special stainless steel and an ECU upgrade. The tuned Audi R8 can now have a whooping 600 horsepower and 590 pound of torque. It then runs at 115.4 horsepower per liter.

To increase the agility of the R8, Wheels and more replaced its standard wheels with their own three-piece wheels. They are available with a wide choice of surface and color combinations, using a C-Sport 9,0 x 20 model with Continental Sport Contact III tires 235/30/20 at the front and 295/25/20 at the back. This adds an eye-catching visual appearance and sportier look to the Audi R8, making a car worth checking out.

Fenice Milano Rolls-Royce Ghost

In 2009, to meet the market’s modern request, the renowned English manufacturer launched the Ghost model. The ‘baby’ Rolls (it is only 540 cm long) has a less formal look compared to her bigger sisters, but it doesn’t abandon the typical pride of the flagships boasted with the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’, the famous little statue on the front.

Moreover its sporty character is supported by the 12V engine 570 Hp that make of her the more powerful Rolls ever built, able to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in only 4,9 seconds. The ‘Diva’ by Fenice Milano is based on this jewel produced in a limited quantity. Thanks to an important internal and external restyling, the ‘Diva’ adds a touch of Italian elegance and style, together with technical and performance improvements, able to make this car a true masterpiece with a strong personality. To begin with the exterior, ‘Diva’ is proposed in three elegant versions with a bi?colour livery: from the classic blue navy, to the delicious bronze and the luxury limited edition white golden pearlescent varnishing that includes particles in 24K gold. For the navy?blue version, the bonnet and fender are in white golden pearlescent varnishing and chromed frontal grid; while for the white version the bonnet, fender and grid are in 24K gold. For the bronze version, instead, three combinations are available: bonnet, fender and grid in 24K gold, or bonnet and fender in white golden pearlescent varnishing and grid in 24K gold or chromed bronze grid.

Inside the console design has been maintained, but a few enhancements are provided, which due to the use of fine materials, make ‘Diva’ the most exclusive car available on the market. The dashboard and the passenger compartment are in biscuit?coloured leather and wood (teak or grey oak) and include white or bronze Alcantara profiles and inserts in 24K gold, whose outlines have been hand shaped by Fenice Milano’s artisans. The wheel, redesigned starting from the original one, has the crown covered in biscuit?coloured leather ant the central part in 24K gold and wood (teak or grey oak). Also the seats take inspiration from the original ones, but are redesigned following ergonomic principles and realized in white combined with biscuit?coloured pure leather (alternatively a version with biscuit?coloured pure leather coupled with bronze Alcantara seats is available), and like in the original car the picnic tables and the integrated minibar with glass holders have been maintained and realized in 24K gold.

As it happens for all Fenice Milano’s project, also for ‘Diva’ the aesthetic embellishments are coupled with technical interventions, able to improve the performances of the base model. The ECU upgrade, the suspensions adjustment and the optimization of the exhaust and suction system guarantee in fact notably superior performances and even more comfort onboard.

Hennessey HPE700 Camaro Convertible

With the limited production run of Hennessey’s 2010 HPE700 Camaro long since sold-out, the company has announced they will build another 24 units for the 2011 model year. This latest run of HPE700′s will include the addition of the new convertible model (from Chevrolet) and an increase in power from its supercharged 6.2L LS9 V8 – the same engine found in the Corvette ZR1.

The 2011 HPE700 gets its additional power from revised boost levels and a more robust fuel system, delivering 755 bhp and 763 lb-ft of torque. This 30 horsepower increase over 2010 will also help move the convertible’s extra weight, while the large 15 inch brakes from last year remain to bring it back to a stop quickly.

As the Camaro convertible arrives in showrooms in the spring of 2011, the 6-speed manual SS model will become available alongside its hardtop brethren to become the basis for the HPE700 LS9 Camaro transformation.

HPE founder and president, John Hennessey said, “We have already sold a several of our 2011 HPE700′s in hardtop form, increasing the potential for the convertible LS9 Camaro to become an even rarer option than before”. “I expect that we will sell all 24 units just as we did in 2010. However this time we will probably sell-out even sooner as the convertible option will certainly be attractive – especially with 755 horsepower”.

In addition to the upgraded LS9 engine, the HPE700 also includes an adjustable coilover suspension, larger sway bars, HPE lightweight wheels, larger 15-inch brakes with 6-piston front calipers, stainless steel long tube headers, painted hockey stripe, Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, CarbonAero™ carbon fiber body kit and more to complete the car’s distinct look and performance characteristics.

As with the 2010 model year, the 2011 HPE700 LS9 Camaro will be limited to just 24 units, with no set allocation between coupe and convertible. Pricing for the complete HPE700 upgrade, including the base vehicle, is $132,500 and can be ordered directly through HPE or one of Hennessey’s authorized Chevrolet dealers.

Kia Cerato: 5-door Hatchback

Galatea Automobiles uses Hyundai Tiburon/Coupe as a base for a new generation of kit car. Italian styling houses charge through the roof to create an exclusive body for an expensive car. What if a thoughtfully styled exotic and exclusive body was made for a less expensive car, and offered for the price of a body kit?

Today, Galatea Automobiles LLC introduces the “Revision”, the crowning achievement of their goal of designing a car that is both exclusive and beautiful, without the associated expenses of owning an exotic car. The Revision takes inspiration from current exotic sports car styling while retaining originality.

Robert R. Fechtmann is credited with designing the new bodywork. The Hyundai Tiburon was used as a base for the new design, because it already has a strong Italian influence in the side profile of the body. The objective was to replace the original front and rear end with a design that amplifies the Italian influence. Every part was built from scratch, instead of using existing parts as a template. Therefore, every surface is new and dramatically different from the original design. While very different from the stock parts, the new parts maintain a unified design with the rest of the car. The overall effect is a car body that is highly modified, but still has a “factory” appearance. It is more likely to be mistaken as an elegant and expensive factory car, instead of being recognized as an inexpensive modified car.

Unlike many kit cars that are based on a fairly old donor car, the Galatea is a comparatively modern car with modern features. Some of the features on the car shown include front and side airbags, a V6 engine, leather seats, moonroof, and an Infiniti sound system.

The kit is available for $5,180 in fiberglass and includes all lights, hardware, emblems, and a detailed instruction book to make installation easier. The parts included are a new hood, fenders, front bumper, headlights, rear bumper, and taillights. A finished car with 50,000 miles like the one shown can be built for a grand total of $16,000.

The name “Galatea” stems from an ancient Greek myth about a man who sculpts his vision of an ideal woman out of ivory, which he names Galatea. The Greek goddess Aphrodite brings the sculpture to life after observing the sculptor’s passion over his creation. Galatea Automobiles relates this story to the enthusiasm put into the car’s design. The parts were sculpted by hand with a personal vision for automotive beauty. The sculpture was then brought to life in the form of a real, drivable car.

Mansory Range Rover Sport

Perfectly in time for the Range Rover’s 40th birthday, Mansory is introducing a programme for personalising the off-road classic. To be precise, for its sports derivative, the Range Rover Sport. As is the case with all modifications from Mansory, both the body and the interior are subjected to a complete working-over and topped off with powerful engine tuning. Mansory does not distinguish between a diesel or petrol engine in the basic model; the programme increases the performance for either power plant.

The specialists have placed particular emphasis on improving the sporty look of the British SUV. Aerodynamic components with a perfect fit and made from PU-RIM plastic are used to give the series Range Rover Sport a significantly more striking appearance. The new front spoiler with its vertically arranged day driving LEDs and impressive air intakes transform the Bug into a true eye-catcher. In addition, MANSORY Switzerland is also producing a new bonnet with large power dome using the carbon prepreg method. This bonnet provides the engine with additional fresh air for a perfect balance in temperature.

Wide wings and deep side skirts convey a feeling of wild engine power, even while stationary. By adding 60 mm width in the front and 80 mm at the rear, MANSORY has created sufficient space in the wheel wells to accommodate 23 inch light metal wheels with top-performance 315/25 R23 tyres. To show the rims off even more, the centre of gravity can be lowered by up to 30 millimetres with a new air suspension module.

The rear apron diffuser, which features an insert made from visible carbon fibre, and the roof spoiler, also made from carbon, emphasise the dynamic appearance of the SUV. In addition, the D-pillars of the roof can be fitted with carbon applications.

MANSORY is offering powerful performance improvements for all engine variants of the Range Rover Sport. Around 30 HP of additional engine output and extra torque of up to 40 Nm are generated in all variants of the series aggregates by mounting sports exhaust systems, sports air filters and optimised ECU.

For the interior, MANSORY has created a control centre that optimally combines functionality and convenience. The sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals – especially created for the Range Rover Sport – ensure full control over the vehicle. At the same time, the interior boasts pure luxury. Almost all interior cladding components are covered in leather and can be combined with stylish wood or carbon applications, as required. Perfectly embroidered MANSORY Switzerland logos on the seats and foot mats complete the enhanced look.
